A quiet 1920s cottage with a secret garden, just a short walk from downtown Auburn.

This little house sits in the Sierra foothills between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. Two bedrooms at the back are quiet. The back one has a queen bed; the other has a full with room for a toddler bed or pack-and-play we can set up for you.

The kitchen and bath were refreshed a while back in a simple farmhouse way. It’s stocked with what you need for easy mornings — coffee station, good pans, and the like. Out back is the fenced garden we love, with a covered spot to sit and lights for evenings.

We’re dog people. The yard is fully enclosed. Come and go as you like; we hope it feels like your own place for a few days.

Why folks come back
  • A block from the shops and cafés downtown.
  • The fenced garden with its covered patio is our favorite spot.
  • Dogs are very welcome (we leave supplies and the yard is fully enclosed).
  • Guests often say it feels like coming home.
The river is close. The bigger lakes and Tahoe are an easy drive when you want a change of scenery.

The space

The kitchen and bath feel simple and comfortable — light, farmhouse style, everything you need for a few easy days. Dining table for six, two TVs, fast internet, and a stack of blankets.

Out back the garden is fully fenced with a covered patio and string lights. There’s room to sit or let the dog wander. In season the front beds often have strawberries and tomatoes — help yourself.

Where you’ll sleep
Bedroom 1
Queen bed, nightstand, closet. Quiet at the back of the house.
Bedroom 2
Full bed with space for a toddler bed or pack-and-play. Small TV.

We can set up the toddler bed and basic pet supplies if it helps.

What’s included

Full kitchen, high-speed internet, washer & dryer, air conditioning, and two smart TVs with YouTube TV and streaming. The fenced backyard has a covered patio and plenty of space.

See the complete list on Airbnb. We also leave local trail and restaurant notes and can set up the toddler bed if it’s helpful.

A few practical notes
Door code sent the day before. Front has stairs; the side entrance has just a few shallow steps — let us know ahead if that’s easier for you.
Park at the side of the house (front curb is red zone). A second car can tuck in by the garage.
Dogs are very welcome here. We just ask that they aren’t left alone in the yard for long stretches.

What folks have said

Beautifully decorated and well-appointed house, just a short walk from downtown restaurants and shops. Thoughtful touches included a coffee maker, pods, and creamer, a nice selection of books, special dishes for children and patio dining, bottled water, and a kitchen stocked with good-quality dishes, pots, and pans. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay!

This is the best AirBnB at which we've stayed. Clean, comfortable beds, great kitchen, excellent accommodations, beautiful yard. Eileen helped with our requests and was proactive making sure my elderly mother could get into the house. 11/10, would repeat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pine Street Cottage. It is the perfect place for a small dog with the enclosed back yard and it is walkable to uptown and old town Auburn. Nicely renovated and very comfortable two bedroom. We will definitely be back when in Auburn again.
